Curtis Simmons is a Doctorate of Musical Arts candidate in Horn Performance at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin. Curtis is an active performer currently working on recitals, competitions, ensemble concerts, and educating young horn players in the Pflugerville ISD, Manor ISD, and Dripping Springs ISD. Prior to attending the University of Texas, Curtis graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music with his Master of Music Degree in Horn Performance. In Kansas City, he was a regular substitute musician with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra, performed a link up concert with members of the Kansas City Symphony and was a member of the UMKC Wind Symphony. Prior to Kansas City, Curtis completed his undergraduate degrees at the University of Arkansas completing two Bachelor of Music degrees; horn performance and music theory.
The past four years Curtis has served as the fourth horn for the Arkansas Philharmonic. He is also a regular substitute musician for the Tulsa Signature Symphony Mahler concerts.
