Leah Thomason

Flute

Leah Thomason is originally from Kaysville, Utah where she began studying flute at 11. She participated in band and orchestra from 7th to 12th grade and was 1st chair in the Utah All State Band. She majored in flute performance at University of Utah, University of Texas at San Antonio and St. Mary's University.  She studied flute with Rita Linard, Arthur Ephross, Adam Kuenzel, Jane Lyman and Lee Hanson Yorganson and participated in masterclasses by Julius Baker and Carol Wincenc. She was a flutist with the Utah Army National Guard Band, The Air Force Band of the West, Salt Lake Symphonic Winds and The Davis County Symphony.

 

Mrs. Thomason has been teaching flute lessons for 34 years and has taught for Davis County School District (Utah), New Braunfels, San Antonio, Northside, Rockdale, Taylor and Hutto ISD. 

 

She has 4 grown children and currently lives in Rockdale with her husband, Lee, and too many dogs.
